Since her arrival in NYC in 1981, Susanne Bartsch has been described as "the nightlife equivalent of a couture label" by the NYT. After practically reinventing the entire scene, Susanne also advocated for the disenfranchised, opened a store to celebrate young designers (John Galliano, Vivienne Westwood), and raised millions for HIV/AIDS before anyone else cared.
